Brunswick matrix Tests 15Ch. “No” means “Yes" / Carl Fenton’s Orchestra

  • Description: Jazz/dance band
  • Category: Instrumental
Notes
Orchestra: 12 men, plus saxophone.
Session indicated as recorded in the AM.
Carl Fenton's orchestra (actually the Brunswick studio orchestra under the direction of Walter Haenschen) was normally a New York based studio unit, and the presence here of several New York session men would tend to confirm this. On the other hand, on the recording sheet the test master numbers are suffixed "Ch" as shown, and the noted presence of "Mr. Haenschen" on the March 13 & 14 dates above suggests that these recordings seem to have taken place in Chicago rather than the New York location which might normally be expected.
