| Laird notes that the recording sheet is headed "Coast & Chicago Special" and states that masters E26388 and E26389 are identified on the sheets as re-recordings of masters E24917 and E24918. (See matrix record E24917-E24919.) Laird also notes: "These 'rerecordings' were made on February 3, 1928, but the purpose is unknown as the Brunswick issues use the original masters as shown. Note that these 'rerecordings' seem to be re-masterings of existing recordings rather than what are usually described as 'remakes' (or new attempts to record selections previously recorded).'" |
