Notes
Laird: "The recording sheet is headed 'Special Recordings.' This session is the first in the New York studios of a series of recordings for the National Radio Advertising Co. which would come to increasingly dominate the work of the studio. Typically, no details are provided of the content of these recordings and details are also lacking about the participants. The recordings made for the National Radio Advertising Co. range from musical programs with sponsorship announcements to spoken word advertising, plus a range of radio station promotions and other pre-recorded material for use in broadcasting. Where only program titles are listed, no further details are known."
See Brunswick Radio Advertising Co. Inc., by Ross Laird, for a discussion of this series of masters.
Documentation of Brunswick Records derives primarily from Ross Laird's "Brunswick Records: A discography of recordings, 1916-1931" (Greenwood Press, 2001). See the ADP Brunswick Records Resources page for more information.
