Documentation of Brunswick Records derives primarily from Ross Laird's "Brunswick Records: A discography of recordings, 1916-1931" (Greenwood Press, 2001). See the ADP Brunswick Records Resources page for more information.
Laird: "Considering the number of other recordings made in Chicago on May 28, 1926 it is doubtful that the above recordings were also made that day (although that is the date on the sheet). Like many (if not all) recordings made with mobile equipment, the dates on the recording sheets are very likely the date the masters were processed rather than the actual recording date. It is unlikely that waxes taken on the 'road' could be processed on the same day they were recorded. Most probably they were sent back to head office (in this case Chicago) for processing, and that it is this date which is shown on the sheets. Accordingly, no exact date has been given for this session (although it could have been within a day or two of May 28, 1926). On the recording sheet the sequence of the 'C' series master numbers has been altered by hand, with C322 changed to C323 and C323 changed to C322. Another interesting fact about these recordings is that although they were promoted as recordings made at the 1926 International Eucharistic Congress, this event was held at Soldier's Field, Chicago from Monday, 21 June to Thursday, 24 June 1926 (that is, almost a month after these recordings were made). It is likely that these recordings were actually made at one of the several rehearsals which must have been necessary for an event of this scale. They were certainly made on or before 28 May, 1926."
Masters renumbered by Brunswick as E19401-E19402.
