| Brooks/Rust: "This recording group was formed in 1906 to replace the minstrel company formerly featured on Columbia, led by Len Spencer. According to historian Jim Walsh it was composed of Byron G. Harlan, Billy Murray, Arthur Collins and Steve Porter, and also recorded for Zonophone and Victor (Hobbies, October, 1962)." |
| From the "Music trade review" Columbia releases announcement (Sept. 8, 1906): "Record 'A' contains the opening introductory overture by Prince's Orchestra and the entire Minstrel Company, singing the chorus 'Songs of aristocracy,' followed by humorous dialogue between the Interlocutor and End-man, with amusing interruptions from the other End-comedian, whose witty sallies are greeted with laughter and applause. Mr. Murray responds with 'I kind of like to have you fussin' 'round with full quartette refrain." |
